3-Step Application
Step 1: Review Requirements
Before submitting your application, please ensure you meet the following requirements. Review the list below to confirm your qualifications and readiness for the instructor role.
- Valid seafarer’s license or certification (e.g., STCW, Chief Mate, Master Mariner, Marine Engineer)
- Minimum of 3–5 years relevant maritime industry experience
- Previous teaching or crew training experience (preferred but not required)
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
- Familiarity with IMO standards and STCW regulations
- Basic computer skills and ability to use a Learning Management System (LMS)
- Updated resume or CV detailing maritime experience and qualifications
- Additional professional certifications (optional but advantageous), such as:
- IMO Model Course 6.09 – Training Course for Instructors
- IMO Model Course 3.12 – Assessment, Examination, and Certification of Seafarers
- Strong commitment to safety, ethics, and professional conduct
- Willingness to participate as a part-time or full-time instructor based on program needs
